Late Night Snacks and Chats at Just Sweet Dessert House

OMG! Can you believe that it's May already and next Sunday is Mother's Day? Time sure flies by fast. May means crunch time and elbow grease, lots of work to crank out. I just wanted to do an update on the blog before I am off to crunch time.

So after dinner at Lantern , one of my friends wanted to meet up with me, my boyfriend, and our other friends for dessert. I quickly did a search on Yelp and came up on this little dessert place called Just Sweet Dessert House in the East Village so that's where we went.

There's not much decor, very simple, and catered mostly to college students and the young crowds. I like that they close late. Just Sweet Dessert House doesn't do just desserts, they also serve savory items such as: hand-made dumplings, takoyaki, noodle soups, and a lot more.

So since we came here for dessert this is what we ordered:

Pink Romance
Will ordered the Pink Romance Crepe ($7.00) which consisted of strawberries covered with strawberry syrup, whipped cream, and vanilla ice cream. It sure sounds and looked amazing. I didn't try any since I am not a particular fan of crepes.

Dark Forest
Another friend ordered the Dark Forest ($7.00) which consisted of banana, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and vanilla ice cream. It's similar to the Pink Romance crepe.

I really like how beautifully plated the crepes were. It was clean, creative, and clear.

Taiwanese Shaved Ice
For dessert, I had the Taiwanese Shaved Ice ($6.00). You can customize it to your own liking. You can pick four toppings and add ice cream for $1.00. So I got red bean, grass jelly, mixed fruit jelly, and strawberries as my four toppings and red bean ice cream.

I really and truly enjoyed this dessert! It was fantastic. It was pretty hot the day we went to Just Sweet Dessert House  and I really needed an ice cold dessert to cool me down and this worked really well for me. It wasn't too sweet which I liked. I crave for this dessert again.

None of my friends really knew this spot existed and were really happy with the quality of the food and I was too. I definitely want to revisit Just Sweet Dessert House. There's an array of menu items to try and I would love to give it another shot when I am in the neighborhood again.
